We firmly believe that participation by people of every nation and none can only strengthen quizzing in Wales. Accordingly, we welcome all quizzers to our website, social media channels, and to all quiz events held in Wales.
Nevertheless, international competitions could not operate without some certainty as to a quizzer’s eligibility for selection for a particular national side. The Quiz Organisation of Wales endorses and abides by the eligibility criteria of the International Quizzing Association which are set out in full here. In summary, you are will be eligible to compete for a Wales team in official competition if;
- You were born in Wales; or
- Any of your biological parents or grandparents were born in Wales; or
- You are a British citizen and have lived continuously in Wales for at least three years.
